welcome to Da Lat
welcome to Da Lat
City    of
Eternal
Spring
Dalat, a city cradled by misty mountains, forever escapes the fiery grip of summer.

Unlike the rest of Vietnam, where the sun beats down relentlessly, Dalat exists in a state of perpetual springtime. Here, blossoms erupt in vibrant displays, unfazed by the changing seasons. The air hums with a secret melody, keeping the essence of spring eternally young.

Whether you wander through fragrant flower farms or soak in the cool embrace of evening, Dalat offers a timeless sanctuary, a place where the soul of spring whispers secrets in the breeze.

Dalat sits at about 1,500 meters above sea level. This elevation keeps it cooler than other parts of Vietnam year-round, earning it the nickname:

Mist covering the valleys almost year-round leads to its unique nickname. Residents and tourists have said that Da Lat has all four seasons in one day: spring in the morning, summer at noon, autumn in the afternoon and winter at night, from the sunset to the sunrise.

Da Lat city
Da Lat or Dalat
— Vietnamese: Đà Lạt
— Viet pronunciation: [ɗâː làːt̚])

... is the capital of Lam Dong Province and the largest city of the Central Highlands region. The city is located 1,500 m (4,900 ft) above sea level on the Langbian Plateau. Da Lat is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Vietnam.
Da Lat is my (personal) happy place for a nature escape.

It's a breath of fresh air compared to bustling Saigon - the city where I was born. Da Lat will never get old to me. I usually come here with friends, even though we go here about 5-6 times a year: riding scooters along the hills, seeing Da Lat from the top as well as trying all the delicious local specialties.

For me, the change in temperature itself is already a welcome treat.
Below are some of my Da Lat top-picks, feel free to take some notes!

(and/or

The best Da Lat dishes are made with fresh produce and meat that are sourced from ethnic farms around the hill town. Just about anything can be grown in Da Lat, so some of the best food here includes... every type of ingredients you can imagine.

The most popular way to start the day is with a crispy baguette and meatball soup, along with hot soybean milk. Give the town some time to explore: best restaurants usually hide within those small alleys.

Check out my (personal) favorite must-try spots in Da Lat for anytime of the day, night-owls are included, of course →

Some of my most recent trips

01/2020

First trip in 2020, of course, it's in Da Lat, and to be honest, this is one of the best rolls of my film journey.

P/S: It's kodak 400
P/S 2: I was blinking in the picture so don't look at my eyes

06/2019

My high school senior trip. This trip was fun but one of those bad ones because I had a really big fight with my best friend and we decided to not be friends anymore, then his family immigrated to the US.

P/S: Guess what, now I'm in the States, and we're friends again since ... I actually don't remember, and he will be in Detroit for my graduation!

12/2018

My first & last trip with my high school classmates when we were still in school. This was also the first time after 4-5 years that I went back to Da Lat. Ever since, I couldn't stop...

In the picture, from right to left, my best friend - Leo, me, Linh, and Huy - my high school desk mate.

12/2020

Same trip - last one of 2020, but different time of the day :)

12/2020

Last trip of 2020, Da Lat, again.

This trip was ... unforgettable. <3 If you know, you know :)

P/S: With Catherine, Loc, Khang, Quang, chi Ngan. I miss you guys sm
